Our Industry Certifications & Memberships

The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has been the governing body for refrigerant licenses and refrigerant trading authorisations in Australia since the early 1990’s. It is a legal requirement that businesses acquire a refrigerant license to handle R134a, the refrigerant gas that all car manufacturers have used since R12 was outlawed in 1993, as it was extremely harmful to the environment. Mr Cool is proud to be an ARC certified business and practices only within ARC rules and guidelines.

The Automotive Air Conditioning, Electrical and Cooling Technicians of Australasia (VASA) was formed in 1993 to encourage best practice repair procedures, continuous learning and ethical conduct within the automotive aftermarket industry. In addition, VASA is also a voice for technicians within the aftermarket industry, liaising with key industry and government regulatory bodies. VASA membership extends throughout Australia and New Zealand and comprises mainly service workshops and technicians, but also includes parts wholesalers, equipment manufacturers and educators. Mr Cool is proud to be a long standing member of VASA and consistently attends VASA events and training seminars.

The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) provides a huge range of services and support to the aftermarket industry. These services include the AAAA magazine, monthly newsletter, industry awards, member forums and more, though they’re most recognised for holding the largest automotive industry show in the Oceania region, “The Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo”. Two of our employees attended the trade show in April this year in Melbourne, representing Mr Cool as a leading workshop in automotive air conditioning. At the expo were over 10,000 trade delegates and 420 exhibitors from 21 countries, showcasing the latest products within the industry.

The Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers (iame) was established in 1936 as a means of obtaining technical information relevant to the trade and improve conditions in the industry by raising the skill level. As a way of providing technical information to the industry, iame are constantly adding to their journal “The Automotive Engineer” so members can keep up to date on new information and changes in the industry. Mr Cool is proud to work with iame to provide training seminars to automotive workshops from all over South East Queensland, right here in our Milton workshop.

DENSO was founded in 1949 and has since become the world’s largest manufacturer of genuine automotive parts. Their Australian branch is located in Croydon, Victoria and manufactures engine cooling systems, air conditioning, air intake systems, fuel pump modules and instrument clusters. Having a branch here in Australia means that DENSO can work closely with car manufacturers and clients to ensure their products are suited to Australian conditions and the Australian market. Mr Cool’s sister company, Cool Compressors, has been a long standing DENSO parts distributor and we use DENSO parts right here in our workshop.

Mr Cool Automotive is an RACQ approved repairer, which we take pride in and are always looking for new ways to provide a better service to our customers. The RACQ put a lot back into our community, and will always have our support as an industry partner.
